Programs

A class for every age & stage

Kensington Preschool offers a variety of classes depending on your child's age — all considered Pre-K, from 2s through Transitional Kindergarten. Each classroom is designed to meet the needs of the age group it serves.

AGES 2–3

Twos Class

Gentle first steps into the classroom, with shorter segments of time and age-appropriate language. Lots of hands-on exploration, sensory play, and a warm introduction to the preschool routine.

AGES 3–4

Threes Class

Monthly themes spark questions and curiosity across math, science, art, literature, and family life, with growing independence in the classroom.

AGES 4–5

Fours Class

Play-based learning builds new academic and social skills, laying the groundwork for kindergarten readiness with more structured activities.

TK

Transitional Kindergarten

A confident bridge to kindergarten, building on everything learned along the way — the final step before "big school."

The Basics

How classes work

A few practical details about how our classrooms are structured, for families getting to know KPS.

Ages Served

Kensington Preschool is open to children 2 to 5 years of age, operated on a non-discriminatory basis with equal treatment and access regardless of race, creed, or religion.

Session Pattern

Most sessions are based on two or three mornings per week, giving families flexibility while children build a consistent routine.

Teacher Ratio

Teachers are selected for their ability to relate to young children and their background in child development, with no more than eight children per teacher — sometimes fewer, as is age-appropriate.

Class Size

A total of 44 children may be enrolled each day across all classes, keeping the campus feeling close-knit and every child known by name.

Waiting List

A waiting list is kept throughout the school year. Families are encouraged to tour and apply early, especially for popular age groups.

Curriculum

Every class follows monthly themes designed to stimulate questions and encourage discovery across math, science, art, literature, and family life.

Want more flexibility? Morning Bunch and Lunch Bunch / Stay and Play can extend any class day by an hour or two — see Beyond the Classroom for details.
